Art Silber
Owner - Potomac Nationals
Baseball is such a great sport! How would you like to have a chance
to see some of those multi-million dollar players before they got their
big break to play for the major league?
Join us to hear the inside stories about the players of minor league
baseball. Our speaker, Art Silber, a former bank president and
long-time owner of the Potomac Nationals (an affiliate of the
Washington Nationals) will share many of his experiences with you and of course is ready for your questions.
Art has another distinction too. He’s the “Oooooldest first base
coach in minor league baseball”? There he is, on the field at the
home games, wearing jersey #42. He’ll be glad to tell you why.
Mr. Silber also serves as National Treasurer of the Jewish National
Fund and spends a great deal of time in Israel. With the ever-present
conflict in the Middle East, he’d be interested in hearing your
thoughts and sharing his with us. A year ago at this time, he actually
found himself in a Haifa bomb shelter during the war with Lebanon.
Mr. Silber is looking forward to speaking to our group and we are all
excited to hear what he has to say. And…..Why DOES he wear
# 42?
