VIRGINIA SNYDER
Delray Resident who inspired
"Murder She Wrote"
Virginia Snyder, 87, has been searching for justice her entire life.
In the1950’s, while living in Orlando and working as a secretary for
an Orange County engineer, Snyder helped to form the Citizen’s
Committee For Good Government. They defeated a heavily city
official supported Port Authority Bill 2-1 and uncovered shady
transaction deals on land that eventually became the Orlando
International Airport.
In 1971, Snyder was working as a reporter and uncovered a
school member caught in dishonest dealings with federal grants.
By 1975 Snyder was only the second woman in Florida to open her
own private investigative agency.
Her latest book “And Justice for All” said it “will kick up the past
on local issues swept under Delray Beach’s doormat.”
